I’ve now made it down to Puerto Natales after having a lot of trouble with buses on the route south. I gave up and booked a flight down to Punta Arenas and then a bus north to Puerto Natales. For the ticket cost of $95 (USD) it was well worth the time saving and the weather is heaps better here as well. I’m just hoping it stays that way for my longest trek to date, of 8 days, in the Torres Del Paine national park. I am expecting this to be the highlight of my trip through Patagonia but that will be predicated on having some sunny weather. I will be camping out on the whole trek so don’t want to be soaked through and no way of drying my clothes!
I have met up again with my Israeli friends who caught a bus south and met me before booking the same flight as me. We need to get the provisions sorted for the trek and have the bus ticket sorted to get to the park at 7:30 tomorrow morning for the first 20km!
I have missed most of the Reading FC games too and just been checking match reports after the fact, however there’s not been much to cheer about recently with our suicide bid against Man Utd in the FA Cup and then losing to Arsenal. Let’s hope for a solid finish to the season.
I will not be back online until at least Friday (pizza day!) 23 March.
